OUR MISSION
High Point's first priority is to help you come to God through the door that Jesus opened for us with His Blood. If you’re already a believer, we want to help you grow!
We love God’s Word because it is the tool that the Holy Spirit best uses to make us like Christ. Of course, having military personnel in the church means people don’t stay for too long, but we get excited when we think about all the different places in the world we can touch by carrying out our mission here in Vilseck, Germany!
We are here for people like you! Come join us as we grow closer to our God.
OUR HISTORY
After serving a tour in Ramstein, Germany, through the U.S. Air Force, John Beach personally experienced the importance of having a church family to help a person grow spiritually. In 1976, he returned with his wife, Elva, and planted High Point Baptist Church in Ulm, Germany. The name was inspired by the church that supported and sent them—High Point Baptist Chapel in Geigertown, Pennsylvania. After the Army base in Ulm closed, God led Pastor John and Elva to replant High Point in Vilseck in 1993.
First, the church met in Amberg, and then, they moved into a storefront building in Schlicht. In 2004, their son Duane and his wife, Daylin, came to work in the ministry. In May of 2005, the church moved to its third location, Vilseck, where it still is today. The month after opening the doors in Vilseck, Duane became the lead pastor with Pastor John continuing to serve as Missions Pastor.
Overall, High Point has now been serving God and the U.S. Army communities of Germany for over 30 years.
